About the Registered Massage Therapist and Structural Integration practitioner - Jennifer De Clercq RMT SI
After 15 years in commodity customer service and corporate training, I made a career change to massage therapy.
I graduated from the Mount Royal College Massage Therapy program in 2005. Shortly after graduating, I added Hot Stone Therapy and Shiatsu to my practice. I studied Shiatsu massage with the team at the Ten Thousand Waves Spa in New Mexico, USA with professional sport massage master, Masanori Uchida from Nagoya, Japan. It is a favourite treatment among my clients.
In 2017, I made the decision to get focused on my own self care. I was receiving various forms of chiropractic, physiotherapy, and massage but not getting long lasting, definitive change. As a result, I hired a professional athletic coach and dedicated myself to changing my body composition and structure through intensive training and nutrition. As a result, I feel strengthened and inspired to support others in achieving their goals while overcoming their personal obstacles.
Meanwhile, I was searching for a new modality to add to my career. I discovered the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) certification led by Thomas Myers in Maine, USA. After learning how this technique addresses posture, structural stability, and range of motion deficiencies, I realized it was a perfect fit for my own personal mission and where I wanted to direct my career. I knew it would help others get back to a pain free, efficiently working body. After undergoing the ATSI 12 series twice now, I am thrilled to have experienced the dramatic results. I graduated from the intensive ATSI program in the fall of 2020 under the direct supervision and instruction of Thomas Myers. I am member of the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI). I look forward to providing the same experience to you.
I believe this is the best solution to relieve postural pain. I firmly believe in many cases, the body can heal itself with a strong and stabilized posture; supported by proper nutrition, movement, and rest.
I enjoy a balanced lifestyle with interests including hiking, travelling, weight training, yoga, and clean eating.
